## What it is

PrizePicks is best known for daily fantasy sports, and that product — Player Picks, run by
SidePrize LLC — is out of scope here. This card is about the other half of the app: **Team Picks**
and **Culture Picks**, which are event contracts.

The site-wide footer is the one sentence to read first: "Team Picks and Culture Picks are event
contracts offered by Performance Predictions II, LLC d/b/a PrizePicks Predict, a CFTC-registered
FCM and NFA Member." PrizePicks launched the product on 14 November 2025, and the launch release
says that "all event contracts listed on PrizePicks are Kalshi markets".

**PrizePicks is the broker, not the exchange.** NFA BASIC lists Performance Predictions II LLC
(NFA ID 0571411) as a registered futures commission merchant and approved NFA member since
22 September 2025, doing business as PrizePicks Predict, with activity "exclusively limited to
swaps". Its disclosure document under CFTC Regulation 1.55, dated 16 June 2026, states that the
firm is a clearing member of Kalshi Klear and a member of KalshiEx LLC, that the contracts it
handles are "executed on KalshiEx, cleared through Kalshi Klear, and are regulated as cleared
swaps", and that it self-clears them. So the structure is the same as
[Robinhood](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/robinhood-prediction-markets)'s — a broker in front of
[Kalshi](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/kalshi) — except that PrizePicks' FCM clears for itself and routes to one
exchange, not three.

**Polymarket is announced, not live.** PrizePicks announced a multi-year partnership with
Polymarket on 11 November 2025, three days before launch. Neither the launch release nor the FCM
disclosure of June 2026 names any exchange besides Kalshi.

**Two accounts in one app.** The customer agreement requires a fantasy account with SidePrize
before an Event Contract Account can be opened, and the event account can only be funded from
the PrizePicks account. The app shows two balance tabs, one for Players and one for Teams and
Culture. The difference is not cosmetic: cash in the event account gets CFTC Part 22 segregation
and Part 190 bankruptcy protection, and the agreement states that once it is moved back to the
PrizePicks account it no longer does.

**The price is shown as a payout multiplier.** Each pick is a contract between $0.00 and $1.00 that
pays $1.00 if it is right; the app presents it as an estimated payout on the amount you choose to
spend, which it calls the entry fee.

## Availability

**US residents, 18 or older or the legal age where they live, and the state map is not the
fantasy map.** PrizePicks' eligibility article (last updated 14 September 2026) splits the
country by pick type:

- **Team and Culture Picks:** 18+ in Alaska, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana,
Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon,
South Carolina, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia,
Wyoming and Wisconsin; 19+ in Alabama; 21+ in Virginia; and 18+ in Idaho, Hawaii, Iowa,
Louisiana, Montana, Mississippi and New Jersey, where fantasy Player Picks are not offered.
- **Culture Picks but not Team Picks:** Delaware, Kentucky, New Hampshire, New Mexico and DC at
18+, Colorado at 19+, Illinois and Massachusetts at 21+; and Michigan, Pennsylvania, Connecticut,
Ohio and Maryland at 18+, which get Culture Picks only.
- **Neither:** Arizona and New York (fantasy only), and Nevada and Washington, which the page does
  not list at all.

That is Team Picks in 34 states and Culture Picks in 46 states plus DC, counted from that page.
**PrizePicks' own pages disagree with each other.** The older "Where can I play" article carries
a state table dated 19 May 2026, gives two different Team Picks counts in its prose, and puts
Iowa at 21+ where the eligibility page says 18+. The eligibility page is the newer of the two, and
this card follows it.

Enforcement is by **physical location**: "you will need to follow the rules of the region where
you are physically located while accessing the app", and outside an eligible region the platform
is inaccessible until you return. VPNs are prohibited, and an account caught using one is blocked
from depositing, withdrawing and submitting picks.

KYC is PrizePicks' standard check — name, date of birth and address against a government ID,
sometimes a selfie, and US citizenship, permanent residency or a valid US visa — plus **a second
verification for Team and Culture Picks**, proving a valid Social Security number. A Taxpayer
Identification Number is not accepted, even from a member who already passed the first check.

## Pricing

**A flat commission per contract per side**, from PrizePicks Predict's fee schedule (as of
27 October 2025): "$0.005-$0.02 per contract, per side (i.e., opening or closing a position)".
The table behind it is half a cent per contract at 1¢, a cent at 2¢, 1.5 cents at 3¢, and
**$0.02 at every price from 4¢ to 99¢**. Totals round up to the nearest cent, and each order has a
$1 minimum purchase.

The help centre states when it applies: the fee is added to the entry fee when you buy and taken
out of the proceeds when you sell. Nothing is charged if you hold the pick to its closing date.

**Why the fee fields read 2%.** At 50 cents the commission is $0.02 against a $1 payout, which is
2% of the payout, or 2¢ a contract. The same figure goes in both fields because the schedule makes
no maker-taker distinction, and orders cannot rest in any case (see below). A round trip — buy and
sell before the close — is 4¢ a contract. And because the commission is flat while Kalshi's own
fee is a curve, the gap to [Kalshi](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/kalshi) direct widens towards the extremes: at 10¢ it
is 2¢ here against Kalshi's 0.63¢.

**What the schedule does not quote is a separate exchange fee.** Robinhood's schedule adds
KalshiEX's $0.01 a contract on top of its commission; PrizePicks' quotes only its own commission.
It does reserve the right to charge "all brokerage commissions, fees, and other costs incurred or
owed in connection with the execution and clearing of Contracts", fees imposed by any DCO or
regulator, and service fees such as wire and statement fees, and to vary rates for promotions.
Kalshi's own fee schedule says that users reaching Kalshi through an FCM may be charged fees that
differ from Kalshi's. We found no exchange-fee line on any PrizePicks page, and we have not
funded an account to see a confirmation.

Funding is narrower than for fantasy. Only Visa and Mastercard debit cards (Mastercard not in
South Carolina), instant bank transfer, and Apple Pay backed by one of those debit cards can fund
Team and Culture Picks; PayPal, Venmo and credit-card deposits cannot, and the bonus balance
cannot be used either. Deposits and withdrawals have a $10 minimum,
withdrawals are limited to one in 24 hours, and neither help article names a fee.

## Markets & resolution

**Team Picks** are winners, spreads, totals and futures on sporting events; **Culture Picks** are
one-of-two outcomes on non-sports events, which the product page illustrates with award shows and
music charts. Every one is a Kalshi market, and none is PrizePicks'.

**PrizePicks resolves nothing.** Its risk disclosure says the outcome is determined and reported by
the entity designated in the contract, and the per-market "view full rules" link is to Kalshi's
terms. Payouts arrive once a pick reaches both its closing time and the payout date shown on the
details screen. The outcome rules are on [Kalshi's card](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/kalshi).

**Order handling is narrow.** The customer agreement requires every order to be a limit order
priced no more than 5% above or below the current market price; an order that cannot fill expires
"shortly thereafter", and **partial fills are not permitted**. When exiting, you may have to sell
in the lot sizes you bought. In practice that is a fill-or-kill ticket against Kalshi's book, not
a resting order on it.

**PrizePicks' own market maker may be on the other side.** The FCM disclosure names an affiliate,
Performance Predictions III LLC, as a market maker or liquidity provider on the exchanges where the
firm executes customer orders, "including in the same contracts", that "may be the direct or
indirect counterparty to, or take the opposite side of, customer orders" and may get reduced or
rebated fees and other terms customers do not. Customers consent to this in the agreement. The
book is Kalshi's and other members trade on it too, but the firm selling you the contract has an
affiliate positioned to take the other side.

**Combination lineups straddle the two products.** A Power Play lineup can mix at least two
fantasy Player Picks with eligible Team Picks, up to six picks. The customer agreement calls this
a Combination Trade: the event-contract leg sits in the FCM account, and if it does not profit,
the fantasy leg is not funded. Only the event-contract leg is a Kalshi contract; the rest is
fantasy, run by a different entity under different rules.

## Integrations

None. There is no public API, WebSocket or export for Team and Culture Picks; this is a consumer
app. Anyone who wants programmatic access to the same contracts should read the
[Kalshi API](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/kalshi-api).

PrizePicks issues a **Form 1099-B** for Team and Culture Picks, reporting gains and losses from
buying and selling event contracts, the following February — a different form from the 1099-MISC
it sends fantasy players at $600 or more.

## Limitations

- **The fantasy app's reach is not this product's.** The product page says "Available in All 50
States"; Team Picks reach 34 and Culture Picks 46 plus DC, and four states get neither.
- **PrizePicks' own availability pages disagree** on the count and on at least one state's age.
- **Limit orders within 5% of the market, no partial fills, no resting.** The ticket is simpler than
Kalshi's and gives you less control over the price.
- **A flat 2¢ a side is expensive away from the midpoint**, and the schedule leaves room for
further execution and clearing charges it does not quantify.
- **An affiliated market maker may take the other side of your order**, on better fee terms than
  yours.
- **One exchange.** Every contract is Kalshi's; the announced Polymarket route is not in the FCM's
  disclosures.
- **Free editorial "picks" sit next to the markets.** The PrizePicks Playbook publishes daily
articles under headlines such as "Colts vs. Commanders Prediction, Spread, NFL Picks", quoting
live Team Picks payouts, with a disclaimer that they are not investment advice. They are free and
separate from the order ticket, and nothing places an order for you.
- **Nobody here has funded an account.** Everything above is read from PrizePicks' help centre,
FCM regulatory documents, newsroom and product page, and from NFA BASIC, on 3 October 2026; PrizePicks' own pages re-checked on 4 October.

## Alternatives

[Kalshi](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/kalshi) direct trades the same contracts with Kalshi's curve fee in place of a flat
2¢, a resting order book and an API, from 18 and in more states.
[Robinhood](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/robinhood-prediction-markets) is the other broker route to Kalshi, with a
commission capped at a cent plus Kalshi's exchange fee. For sports only, [Novig](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/novig) and
[ProphetX](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/prophetx) are designated exchanges in their own right, with no broker layer.

## FAQ

### Are PrizePicks Team Picks the same thing as its fantasy Player Picks?

No. Player Picks are daily fantasy sports run by SidePrize LLC. Team Picks and Culture Picks are event contracts offered by a separate subsidiary, Performance Predictions II, LLC, doing business as PrizePicks Predict — a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and NFA member — and every one of them is a Kalshi market. They sit in a separate Event Contract Account inside the same app.

### Which exchange are PrizePicks event contracts traded on?

KalshiEX. PrizePicks' own regulatory disclosure says the contracts are executed on KalshiEx, cleared through Kalshi Klear and regulated as cleared swaps, with its FCM as a clearing member of both. PrizePicks announced a Polymarket partnership in November 2025, but its FCM disclosure of 16 June 2026 names Kalshi only.

### What does a Team or Culture Pick cost in fees?

A commission of $0.02 a contract each time you buy or sell, for any price from 4 cents up, and less below that — $0.005 at 1 cent. At 50 cents that is 2¢ a contract to open and another 2¢ if you sell before the close. Holding to the closing date costs nothing extra. Totals round up to the cent.

### Which states can make Team and Culture Picks?

Fewer than can play fantasy. PrizePicks' eligibility page of 14 September 2026 gives Team Picks in 34 states and Culture Picks in 46 states plus DC. Neither is available in Arizona, Nevada, New York or Washington, and Michigan, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Ohio and Maryland get Culture Picks only.
