## What it is

Two free surfaces Polymarket publishes for people who want its prices on their own page, without
writing code against its APIs. This card treats them as one product because they are bought for
the same job, at the same price (nothing), under the same affiliate arrangement. The difference
between them is the shape of the widget.

**The embed builder** (`embed.polymarket.com`) takes a market URL and returns an iframe. The
builder's switches, read off the live page on 30 September 2026, are chart, buy buttons, volume,
live activity (a stream of recent buys), Y axis, grid rows, border and dark mode. Width and height
can be set in pixels or left to fit the container. There are two layouts, Standard and Banner, plus
a sports banner for fixtures. An **affiliate code** field appends `?via=` to every outbound link in
the frame. For an event with several markets, **Rotate All** turns the frame into a carousel that
cycles through each market in the event, stepping every few seconds. The code comes in two forms,
Default and Minimal. The Default form wraps the iframe in a `<figure>` that also contains a plain
link to Polymarket's home page, laid over the frame's logo. That link sits in your page's markup,
not inside the iframe.

**The livestream ticker** (`ticker.polymarket.com`) is a horizontal crawl of markets built for an
OBS or Streamlabs browser source, and it works just as well as an iframe on a web page. You choose
a category — Politics, Sports, Crypto, Esports, Culture, Finance & Earnings, Technology & Business,
Featured or Breaking News — or build a custom ticker from any tag you type in. You also choose
Classic or Breaking News styling, a scroll speed from 0.5x to 1.5x, and whether prices show as a
percentage or in cents. The advanced options add minimum-volume and probability-band filters. An
affiliate ID field turns every market link into a short link. The page's own description says the
data "updates live every 2 minutes from Polymarket's API".

A third route exists but is not a widget at all: pasting a market URL into a post on X produces
the platform's link card.

## Availability

No account, no key and no identity check to embed either one. Nothing on the embed builder, the
ticker or the help centre article restricts who may publish an embed, so a US publisher may put
one on a page.

What the widget cannot do is change who may act on it. The buy buttons, the market links and the
ticker's links all go to `polymarket.com`, the international platform. Its terms bar trading from
the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia and more than thirty other countries, and
[Polymarket](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/polymarket) sets out that map in full. A US reader who clicks through lands on
a site that is view-only for them. The regulated US venue, [Polymarket US](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/polymarket-us),
is a separate entity, and nothing on either builder points at it. **If most of your audience is in
a blocked country, turn off buy buttons.** A button your reader cannot legally use reflects on your
page as much as on Polymarket.

The block also runs in the other direction. The embed and the ticker are served from subdomains of
`polymarket.com`, so a country that blocks the domain blocks the widget too. On 30 September 2026
a Türk Telekom resolver answered with the national block page for `embed.polymarket.com`,
`ticker.polymarket.com` and the data API the embed reads from. A reader there sees an empty frame
where your chart was meant to be.

## Pricing

Free, with nothing to upgrade to. There is no plan, quota or key on either tool.

The commercial side is the affiliate code. Polymarket runs its affiliate programme on Dub. On 30
September 2026 the programme page listed $0.01 per click and $10 when a referred user makes a first
deposit, plus a 20% revenue share on that user's perpetuals trading fees. Acceptance is by
application. Everything in the previous section applies here too: a click from a reader in a
blocked country pays at most the one cent.

## Markets & resolution

Anything listed on the international platform can be embedded: politics, sports, crypto, macro,
culture and company events. Nothing here resolves a market. The widget shows whatever price the
platform shows, and resolution is Polymarket's own process through the UMA optimistic oracle,
described on the [Gamma API](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/polymarket-gamma-api) card.

That has one consequence for anyone embedding a market in a piece of writing that will outlive
it. The iframe keeps showing the market after it resolves, and a UMA vote can resolve a market
50/50. An article written around a live 70% figure can end up showing the market's final
state — resolved, or split down the middle — with no explanation beside it.

## Integrations

**Substack is the one integration a publisher can use without touching HTML.** Since 18 February
2026 Substack has had native Polymarket tools, announced as a partnership: a search inside the post
editor and the Notes composer that inserts a market without copying a link, and a widget that draws
a yes/no market as a percentage and a multi-outcome event as a ranking. Substack's help article,
updated 17 August 2026, describes two views, snapshot (current odds) and trend (a line over time).
The search finds Polymarket events and no other venue, and email subscribers get a static image
with a link rather than the live widget. Substack's announcement also says Polymarket joined its
sponsorships pilot to support "a cohort of creators who integrate these tools", and a reader cannot
tell from the page which embeds come from a sponsored writer.

The Polymarket modules on Dow Jones titles, announced on 7 January 2026, are Dow Jones's own and
cannot be embedded elsewhere.

Beyond those two, the output is a plain iframe and works wherever the CMS allows one. There is no
API, no JavaScript event to listen to and no way to read the displayed price back out of the frame.
Anything more custom means building it yourself from the data APIs.

## Limitations

- **The help centre is behind the product.** Polymarket's embed article was last edited on 11
January 2026 and still says embeds support single markets only. The builder's Rotate All mode and
Substack's event rankings both contradict it. Trust the builder.
- **Not documented as a developer surface.** The embed has no entry in Polymarket's developer
  documentation index. The URL parameters (`market`, `event`, `rotate`, `theme`, `chart`,
`buttons`, `via` and the rest) can be read from the builder's output but are not published as a
contract, and could change without notice.
- **One venue.** Every price is Polymarket's international order book. There is no Kalshi, no
Polymarket US and no side-by-side comparison. For a reader in the US that is the venue they
  cannot use.
- **No archive.** An embed shows the market as it is now. To record what the odds were when you
wrote the sentence, you need a screenshot or the price history from the data API. The frame will
  not keep it for you.
- **The ticker states a two-minute refresh.** That is fine for an overlay on a stream and too slow
for anything that claims to be live during a fast market.
- **Email kills it.** Outside Substack's image fallback, an iframe does not render in a newsletter
  at all.

## Alternatives

[PredictWidget](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/predictwidget) is a third-party script widget over the same Polymarket data.
It cannot show a market you choose, only the most active ones. To
control the markup, the refresh rate and which venue's price appears, build the widget yourself on
the [Polymarket Gamma API](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/polymarket-gamma-api) for the catalogue and the
[Polymarket CLOB API](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/polymarket-clob-api) for live prices, or on the
[Kalshi API](https://predictionmarkets.tools/tools/kalshi-api) for a venue your US readers can use.

## FAQ

### Can I embed a whole Polymarket event, or only one market?

One market per embed is the default. For an event with several markets the builder offers Rotate All, which cycles one frame through every market in the event, and a sports banner layout for fixtures. Substack's own editor goes further and renders a multi-outcome event as a ranking. Polymarket's help centre still says single markets only; that line was last edited in January 2026 and the builder has moved past it.

### Does it cost anything to put a Polymarket embed on my site?

No. There is no account, key or plan behind the embed builder or the livestream ticker. The money runs the other way — both tools take an affiliate code, and Polymarket's partner programme pays per click and per referred first deposit.

### Are Polymarket embeds on Substack a different product?

They are the same markets through Substack's own editor. Substack added a native search in February 2026, so a writer picks a market inside the post or Note composer instead of pasting a link, and chooses a snapshot or a trend view. Email subscribers get a static image with a link to the live version.

### Will my readers see the widget if Polymarket is blocked where they are?

Not always. Every Polymarket host is on one domain, so a national DNS block on polymarket.com takes the embed and the ticker with it, and the reader sees an empty frame. A Turkish ISP resolver answered with the national block page for the embed, ticker and API hosts on 30 September 2026.

- [What a trade actually costs on a prediction market](https://predictionmarkets.tools/guides/what-a-trade-actually-costs.md) — Venues publish trading fees in four incompatible units, so 3.00% on one can be cheaper than 1.75% on another. How to convert them, and what else takes a cut.
- [Where weather data comes from and what you may do with it](https://predictionmarkets.tools/guides/where-weather-data-comes-from.md) — Observations, model output and archives are three products with three licences. The forecast is the cheap half; a clean observation history is not.
